For one of my current university projects, we have to research a designer and do our project in their style as if we were designing for them. We could either choose a designer or a retail store from a list or pick our own, there were a few on there which I was interested in such as Comme Des Garcons - this would have been good as one of my main inspirations in my work is Japanese fashion, however I wanted to do something different as I feel like I need to broaden my inspirations. Another one that I was interested in was H&M. I would have liked to do this as some of you may know I have worked for H&M for the past two years and they are my favourite retail store, however I thought that this would have also challenged me less as I am already very familiar with the products and the company. In the end I decided to choose Meadham Kirchhoff.
I chose Meadham Kirchhoff because, although I hadn't heard of them before this, I was really inspired by their recent 2013 Topshop Collection. I am inspired by designers who are eccentric and push the limits of design and use their creativity to express themselves in their collections.
